It appears blogs are a thing of the past. Facebook came over and took over. I know I've let it all slip by but as I went back and looked it appears most that I kept up with from my blog gave it up also. I wonder if it was all on purpose....mine certainly wasn't. I had to get a new laptop and lost the links to many blogs I enjoyed following. I guess I'm an observer of people because just as I love watching people at an airport or a show that explores why people do the things they do I also enjoyed following blogs of folks I don't even know. :) Strange....I know.
What makes people tick? How did society get so far away from doing things God's way?

?
It was a big toss up on whether I'd post something new .... or just quit-it has been nearly 3 months since I posted. YIKES! But here I am. The determining factor was that today I downloaded my 800+ pics from my iPhone to the computer and what jumped out at me was how very blessed I am. When you have a camera you are looking for an opportunity to take a pretty picture but I find a lot of the pics taken with my iPhone are ones I just grab as life is rolling.
Good things-bad things I guess they all come with life. The important thing is how you handle each. I do better with the good things than bad but I guess that is natural.
Now what is up? I wanted to show some of pictures but I can't get them to load. Is this a sign? :)

Time marches on
We drove to MD Anderson for a dry run to make sure we knew exactly where to go for Terry's appointment there. The Medical Center is just a city in its own. I'm glad we know where the garage is we go to. We could actually get valee parking this first day for free but Terry doesn't feel comfortable with that so we will pay for parking (which is not cheap). He is a mess.
While we were there we drove "down the road" to Herman Park and walked around. It is a beautiful place and hard to believe it is in the midst of so many looming buildings. We road the train and walked around for a while and then returned the next day with the grandkids to ride the paddleboat. Colby LOVED that as he got to stear and try to paddle. He did not want to get off. It was fun.
I'm glad we had a little something fun to get Terrys mind off of all going on.

Life is....
I honestly feel like my life is in limbo right now trying to deal with too many doctors and too much to arrange. It is hard to believe that just last month I thought my biggest problem was helping Terry figure out what to do about all the back pain he had. He was on so much pain medicine and working through it all. Finally he got a steroid shot in the back which didn't really help so the next step was surgery. In getting cleared for surgery he had lab work done at the hospital he would be using. They alerted his primary care physician that something was wrong with his blood. I'll be honest in that I really thought there would be a good explanation (the steroid shot or something) but before they would clear him for surgery then he had to go to a blood Dr. (an oncologist). That doctor did more testwork and gave the diagnosis of leukemia. We are in the process of getting him to MD Anderson for a second opinion. They have already ordered a bone marrow biopsy, chest xray and more labs. This brings back too many memories of my walk with dad through his illness. So between dealing with insurance and back Dr., primary care Dr, heart Dr., cancer Dr., sleep Dr......and now a 2nd opinion so another cancer Dr. I've spent a lot of time on the phones. Since Terry did have the back surgery because the cancer Dr. said it would be fine and he was released he has been home recouperating. Thank goodness he is doing really well with his recovery. He has the same back surgery 30 years ago and wow what a difference.
Yesterday I thought I was scheduled to work...drove all the way there and found out I wasn't scheduled so we took off and drove to Galveston. Terry loves to go there just for the great seafood. We love Fisherman's Wharf and have eaten there often. We decided to take the long way back home so drove across on the ferry which is another thing Terry loves to do. There were so many dolphins jumping in the water. I tried to get some pics of them but they sure are fast!

I love hearing the seagulls. There are always plenty around a ferry ride!
Then on the way home we drove onto the beach and just sat and listened to the waves. It was so, so peaceful.
You never know what life is going to bring you. You must enjoy each day! No matter what is going on I'm going to find something to praise God for. Yesterday on that beach was a treat....plain and simple.

Catch up time....Cousin Camp, NM Trip, Birthday and health
I realized that I had not blogged in a long time so ran to the computer to see when the last time was...Aug 6th. That is amazing and then when I read what I had written it was at a time I needed.
In this communication age I call it things seem to go at warp speed. With Facebook, Twitter, Email, Texting, Messaging, Go To Meetings....the list is endless. You can easily make friends with folks you will never meet. Mind boggling! Information can literally reach the ends of the earth with the message with the keyboard of a computer. What an amazing time.
This has been an interesting month packed with all kind of things that have literally turned my life around. I woke up one morning and remembered I had planned on having a "Cousin Camp" for my grandchildren this summer so set immediately to planning it and carrying it out! I took my 3 oldest grandchildren (left the 2 mo and 9 mo with their mommies :) ) and we went to Yogi camping from Sunday through Wednesday in our little camper. I absolutely love the memories we had there. Of course I got so many precious pictures that I put in an albulm for each of them and they LOVE them. Colby was 7, Melissa 4 and William 3. For so many years they lived near to each other and saw each other often so they have such a bond with each other and love each other. They got along really well those days. Of course I kept the days action packed. We crammed a lot into them and even the nights with the limited amount of sleep we did. I'm afraid I returned some sleep deprived but happy children to their mommies!
Then once we returned home I went with my cousin and mom out to New Mexico to see moms sisters. Again action packed, fun few days. It is always reassuring to me to be with folks that love you not matter what. There is nothing you could do that would turn away that love as they are always in your corner. I love seeing mom with her sisters and watching them laugh. I had fun taking pictures of everyone. The only time I feel younger is when I am with my older kinfolk. :)
When we returned it was time for sweet Melissa to turn 5. She is the cutest little thing and a spitfire. Melissa definitely has an opinion and at the same time gives the biggest hugs. She loves all things bling. Yesterday Michelle took her to get her pictures made and she must of had 10 bracelets on. She will smother her little sister in love and corrections. She is ready to lay into her big brother at a moments notice. She is really enjoying the bridge program at church and I'm thankful for that. Just yesterday she asked me for a MeMaw date. I love everything about her....the good....the bad....and the ugly. ha
Bout time I finally found a picture for here. I finally have a "system" for storing my pics which is good at times and not so good at others!
Sept has me smack dab into lots of activities. I'm leading a group of wonderful young moms in the Child Training Bible and Shepherding a Child's Heart. I'm very excited about it as I love to share with moms what a vital role they play in the development of their child. The Bible is so full of instructions and encouragement in this way and I love pointing it out. What a sweet, inspiring group I have this year. Since my mind is so fractured I pray every day that "Jesus take the wheel" and lead through me. I'm also signed up to be a Titus woman in MOPS with is just pure fun. Once again I get to encourage and love on moms with preschool age children. Then last but not least I've signed up for Awanas which is a fantastic program that helps children memorize scripture. I've ended up as the Director of the Sparks program which is for K-2nd grade so I have Colby in my group. This is the first year I have participated in it and what an awesome program!
With that I'll close with whatever pics I can find. :)

Ramblings....time
We heard another person Terry knew "forever" was on his tractor a couple of days ago and had a heart attack and died.
My question is if we knew the exact day we would die would we live life any different. I had a dear friend die in June. If he had known when he was born he had exactly 21,423 days or 58 years, 7 months and 26 days in his life how would it of affected his life?
Scripture tells us in Psalms 139:16 All my days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Acts 17:26 says From one man he made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth and be determined the time set for them and the exact places where they should live. So.... I know there is a preset time I will die. Does that influence how I am living my life?
What I have observed is that when we are young we know that ofcourse people do die. I also know that few take it to heart (unless they live with a terminal illness). We are young...we don't know many people our age dying so we live life---like we have so much time in front of us. Then as we age and more and more people "our age" start dying it gets our attention. But even when it gets our attention how does it influence us?
I'm actually not afraid of dying because I so long to be in heaven with Jesus. At the same time I don't want to leave my loved ones any time too soon. At one time I "needed" to live long enough to see my children grown---that day is here but now I want to live long enough to see my grandchildren grown. And I'm positive if I live long enough I'll want to just live long enough to see my great grandchildren grown. That is what family does for you. :)
What I do want to do ....now....is live my life well. How much better if I would of lived each day, throughout all these years, with this thought in mind. Don't get me wrong....I've been a good person but there is SO much more I could of done. So if I have 5 more days or maybe 20 more years may I do better.
Sormie Omartian said it perfectly in a prayer she wrote in The Prayer that Changes Everything when she prayed..
God, I worship You as my Lord and King. I praise You that You are all-knowing and can see the end from the beginning. That You uphold all things by Your power. That You hold my life in Your hand. That You see my past and my future. I lift up to You all that I am and offer my life to You. Make me an instrument through which Your will is accomplished on earth. Use what I have for Your glory. Lift me up to see things from Your perspective and help me to rise above my limitations. I don't want to limit what You can do in me and through me becaue I don't have an adequate vision of what Your heart desires to accomplish.
Lord, I thank You for the work You have given me to do for Your kingdom. Thank You for the opportunities that You have provided and will provide in order to do it. I pray that You will continue to reveal to me what I am to do and enable me to do it well.
Lord, I pray that You would empower me to do something great for You and Your glory. Give me the strength and abilities I need to see it through to completion. Help me to stand strong against any opposition. Help me to recognize the lies of the enemy and strenghen me to resist them. I want to press forward and beyond them to Your highest calling. Help me to reject anything that keeps me from doing what You have given me to do. I praise You that You are all-powerful and there is nothing too hard for You.
I don't want my own dreams and plans for the future to get in the way of what You have for me (Ecclesiastes 5:7). I know You desire mercy and knowing You more than sacrifice (Hosea 6:6). I long to know You more and to conform to the image of Your Son. May Your goodness, holiness, and beauty be upon me and establish the works of my hands (Psalm 90:17). Move me into the future You have for me as I walk in Your presence each day. Thank You that You created me with a purpose, and every time I worship You, I am fulfilling Your purpose.

Happy Birthday, Colby!
Our Colby is EIGHT years old! That is amazing. Alot of people can remember things they did at 8....not one, two or three. These years are building. His personality and character are being shaped. I LOVE his love for life. I love his infectious smile. I love his determination to make friends and feels no intimidation at all. The time of temper tantrums and terrible twos are gone. In their place is a little boy that loves to talk about the weather and play the Wii. He is so proud of his new baby sister and introduces her to everyone. He would be lost without his younger sister who he plays with...and fusses with. SO very proud he was baptised this year and loves to go to church and Vacation Bible School. What an honor it is to do life with him. How blessed I am to be a part of it. I know God has great plans for him and I know he will go far. Colby, Colby, Colby YOU ARE A JOY!!! Happy Birthday!

Heaven
Once again really blessed to do a Bible study with my mom this summer. We are in Heaven and really enjoying it. She previously did the study while I was leading a class so when it was offered again this summer I could not wait to join in. I find that since my dad has gone on to heaven in a new way I want to know what he is up to. Amazing that this Bible study was offered. God's timing is so awesome! Mom enjoyed it so much the first time she wanted to do it again! :)

Colby's Baptism 6/19/2012
Colby was baptised on Father's Day this year. Jeromy did the baptism and I can't tell you how special it was. Just look at their smiles.
I LOVE how Colby loves Jesus. I love that he wanted to do this to follow in believers baptism for Colby--not for anyone else. He is so sincere in his faith. He is learning leaps and bounds with homeschooling yes in academics but also in all Michelle is teaching him about God's Word. Colby has such a great personality and drive the sky is the limit in what he will do with his life. Most importantly I know Christ will be at the center of it. He was so excited his PePaw was there for hte baptism as Colby prays for his grandpas salvation all the time.
Darcy Jane Moore 6/12/12
It was an exciting time to get the call that Byron and Carlee were heading to the hospital because Carlee was in labor. Mom, Michelle, Colby, Melissa, Madelyn and I jumped in the car/van and raced to Corsicana. I just knew the whole way we would miss it all but we arrived around 9 pm and little Darcy decided to make her entrance at 4:19 6/12/12. It was all smiles then. She is 7 lb 1 oz and 20" long. She has a head full of really dark hair and just melts your heart. Newborns are so awesome. What a blessing to our family! God is so good!
Darcy and Madelyn are just 7 months apart.
It would delight my heart if they were as close as cousins as I am to my cousins!
What special little girls.
Big brothers are pretty special and I know William will make a great one.
Did I mention how VERY excited Melissa was over Darcy's birth? She will lead the pack in the girls with girly fun. I can just imagine all the fun they will have.
